Pop and accordion become one on a lively ball night. The band UNICCORD was founded around the exceptional accordionist, MATTHIAS MATZKE, the delightful vocalist, EVITA and the compelling vocalist, JMMIE WILSON. UNICCORD’s debut album ‘Wings’ contains compositions from the band that have real hit potential along with two completely new and fresh cover versions of “Jessica” and “Tanz” from THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND and HISS respectively. On hearing the album, millions of accordion and harmonica players will discover a completely new way of playing their instruments in an exciting and fresh new way. However, the songs themselves are also so profound that they are certain to climb the charts worldwide. UNICCORD presents innovative melodious new releases that are full of sound and tempered by an accentuated, musical colourfulness. In order to do justice to World Music as a genre and following the successful example of CARLOS SANTANA, the individual pieces were recorded using different vocal performers. However, the basic structure of the vocals based around EVITA and JIMMIE WILSON always remains the same.

Matthias Matzke

One in a million. Brilliant composer, founder of a new style of music on an ‘old’ instrument, virtuoso, “Paganini” of the keyboard and an “Eric Clapton” on the accordion, who plays each note in a manner incomparable to any other musician. Matthias Matzke, virtuoso and gentleman. Following his early musical training on the glockenspiel, Matthias began taking accordion lessons at the Kolping Music School in the town of Sü.en with Anatoli Lick. His music teacher knew full well how to make the whole gamut of accordion literature palatable for him. So much so, in fact, that the 30 minutes he spent practising every day, which in the beginning his parents patiently had to persuade him to do, soon turned into longer sessions on his own volition. As his interest in music grew, his passion for another instrument began to blossom in 2002 when he started taking classical piano lessons from Anna Tichy. Th older he got, the more he became to drawn to improvisation and composition: in 2006, he got the chance to express his creativity on the accordion by taking lessons with Hans-Günther Kölz and also discovered some highly inspiring musicians who play jazz piano; first Alexander Erhardt, then Martin Rosengarten after. After winning first prize at the German Federal Music Competition for Youth, Matthias was also awarded the Leonberg Youth Music Prize in 2008. He received the award for two of his performances in the Baden-Württemberg State Youth Orchestra where Matthias performed Ole Schmidt’s Symphonic Fantasy as a soloist. In the context of the 2014 Rotarian Summer Course, Matthias was awarded the Franz Liszt Foundation Prize by the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar. Soprano Leonie Kratz also won the foundation’s prize for the second time. The encounter between the two led to an intensive cooperation and friendship. In 2016, Matthias received the Hohner Conservatory Advancement Award on being awarded for the first time, and also the Schubart Culture Prize from the town of Geislingen, where he went to school and loves to perform on stage if given the chance on occasion. Matthias has been an integral part of the UNICCORD success formation since 2019.

MARKUS SCHLESINGER

Described by the Kronen Zeitung as a “true magician on the guitar”, Markus Schlesinger is one of the best acoustic guitarists in Austria and is known far and wide as an international touring artist. His virtuoso repertoire, the smoky singing voice and his infectious humor not only guarantee breathtaking musical highlights during his performances, but also varied and entertaining entertainment. He combines virtuoso and masterly both bass, chord and melody on his guitar and enchants the audience every time anew. His repertoire ranges from subtle compositions and jazz arrangements to blues and folk to fingerstyle arrangements of well-known songs. His entertaining anecdotes and lively interaction with the audience sometimes give his stage program cabaret features.

DAS ORIGINAL GAMSBART TRIO

The ‘trio’ is actually a quartet – four multi-instrumentalists (Manfred Saule, Leo Hämmerle, Paul Zender und Hans Popofsits-Mattes) playing a disarming mixture of local ‘schlager’ music, country and rock ‘n’ roll, and Leo’s legendary Zigarettenpolka. JIMMIE WILSON is from Detroit, Michigan – USA. As a child JIMMIE sang in the Gospel Choir which is where he discovered his talent for singing. He later studied Acting in Hollywood and had his first major lead role in the musical „Sisterella“ produced by MICHAEL JACKSON. He then portrayed BARACK OBAMA in “Hope! – The Obama Musical ”. In 2017 JIMMIE WILSON took part in the EUROVISION SONG CONTEST for San Marino together with VALENTINA MORETTA. The song “Spirit Of The Night” was produced by RALPH SIEGEL. WILSON who now lives in Germany, previously had appearances with SEAL, LIONEL RICHIE, THE WEATHER GIRLS and DJ BOBO. JIMMIE WILSON has just ended a 120 show season at PALAZZO – Mannheim 2019/20 as a celebrated star guest and composer. This season’s motto was named after his song “So Damn Beautiful” and received rave reviews. With his distinctive soulful voice JIMMIE WILSON always inspires. His timbre is unique and makes you want more. His energy on stage is contagious and transports a vibe that the audience can feel. EVITA

EVITA is a singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist from Slovenia. She started dabbling in the world of music when she was only 5 years old. Throughout her childhood she gained experience in classical music and jazz and later on continued with popular music education at the University of East London. Her career has afforded her different opportunities to play and sing with multiple bands, orchestras and vocal groups, while composing music for herself, other artists and computer games. She continues to challenge herself by taking part in workshops, masterclasses and numerous musical competitions. Her broad musical knowledge and an abundance of fresh ideas make her the one to watch out for! EVITA – this name stands for natural freshness, unbridled enthusiasm for music, never-ending creativity and great skill. Her voice is bursting with power and masters the play of emotions as well as the jumps between the octaves. Their timbres seem infinite and are certainly also due to the classic training. It impresses with its range and effortlessly moves between tradition, pop and soul. With EVITA a new, shining and always lovable star has risen in the music sky that will give us a lot of pleasure in the long term. Steeped in the tradition of Django Reinhardt, Häns’che Weiss and Titi Winterstein, MARIO TRISKA is a legend of gypsy music. Mario studied classical music at the conservatories in Maastricht and Brussels. “For as long as I can remember, I’ve always loved music. It’s part of who I am. My people are a people of music. For generations, passion has been flowing in the veins of the gypsies, delighting people with warmth of heart and intensity.” MARIO TRISKA, the devil’s violinist, has played on major stages worldwide. He has mastered his instrument like few others and had a joint creative period with ANDRÉ RIEU. MARIO plays Hungarian gypsy music with his ensemble. In order to meet his own exacting standards, the list of his fellow musicians during this tour reads like a Who’s Who of European gypsy musicians. Each individual is a multi-award-winning musician.
